Player protection, transparency, accountability
Our measures under the Government code
The Government publishes a voluntary code of good practice for prize draw operators (Department for Culture, Media and Sport, November 2025). This page lists every measure in it and says plainly where Comp Hub stands: live, in build, or not yet. Each live label is checked against the site every time this page loads.
17 live, 2 in build, 8 not yet. Read the code on GOV.UK.
1. Player protections
-
1.1 Over 18s only: date of birth at sign-up
LiveNobody can register without giving a date of birth that makes them 18 or over. The check is made by our server when the form is sent, not in your browser.
-
1.1 Over 18s only: our team checks winners before any prize is paid
LiveA prize payment or dispatch cannot be recorded as made until our team has recorded the winner's ID and age check. The system refuses to record it otherwise, for a draw winner taking cash or the item and for an arcade cash win, and a winner who entered by post goes through the same check.
-
1.1 Over 18s only: you confirm you are 18 or over, and we keep a record that you did
LiveOn top of the date of birth, you must tick a statement that you are 18 or over before you can register. We record that you confirmed it, and when. A member whose stored date of birth shows them under 18 is refused entry. This is a declaration by you, not a check made by an outside company.
-
1.1 Over 18s only: a place for a stronger age check, which is not yet connected
LiveThe age step can be switched to wait for an outside age-verification supplier. We have not connected one. If it were switched on without a supplier attached, nobody would be able to enter, because the step refuses everyone it has not verified. It never lets anyone through by default.
-
1.2 Complaints
LiveAnyone can send a complaint through the complaints form, signed in or not.
-
1.3 Credit cards: a £250 limit each month
LiveCredit card payments are limited to £250 per calendar month, across all our draws. When you pay, we ask the payment provider what type of card it is. A credit card payment that would take your month past £250 is declined, and nothing is charged. Debit and prepaid cards are not limited, and do not count toward the £250. If the card type cannot be confirmed, it counts as a credit card. At checkout the limit is enforced on the card type the payment provider reports. Our payment connection is still a test one, so that is built and tested against the card type the test connection reports.
-
1.3 Credit cards: instant-win draws
Not yetThe code does not allow credit card payment on instant-win draws. We do not yet have a rule in place that applies that part.
-
1.4 Spend limits
LiveYou set a monthly spending limit when you register, and it can be £0. A member who joined before is asked for one before their next paid entry. A paid entry that would take you over your limit is refused, and the limit is checked again when payment is taken. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising it waits first. Free entries and coins do not count towards it.
-
1.5 Suspend or close your account
LiveYou can suspend your account yourself for six months or more, or close it for good. While either is in force you cannot enter by any route, postal included, and we send no marketing. A suspension or closure is never lifted early.
-
1.6 Watching for signs of harm: spending and late-night play
LiveOnce an hour our system checks the activity of members for two signs of harm: spending well above the usual level for that member, and a burst of play in the small hours, London time. When it finds one it raises a flag for our staff to review. Only staff holding the review duty can see flags, every look, note and closure is logged, and a flag changes nothing for the member. The check reads what members do and writes nothing back to the record of it.
-
1.6 Watching for signs of harm: repeated limit hits
LiveOnce an hour our system also counts how often a member has been stopped by a limit: their own monthly spending limit, or the limit on paying by credit card. Three stops inside 24 hours raise a flag for our staff to review. It is handled like the other flags: only staff holding the review duty can see it, every look and closure is logged, and it changes nothing for the member. This check only sees members who have not turned off analytics, because the record of a stop is kept under that setting, and it says so in its own run when it cannot see at all, for example while that record is switched off.
-
1.7 Stepping in
In buildToday a flag only asks our staff to look, and changes nothing for the member. Proportionate steps beyond that, including stopping someone taking part, are being built.
-
1.8 Where to get support
LiveEvery account page and the help page list five support services (Citizens Advice, National Debtline, Money Advice Trust, Samaritans and Mind) with how to reach each. They are shown to every member, including one who has suspended or closed their account.
-
1.9 Time to enter
Not yetEvery draw shows when it opens and when it closes. We do not yet enforce a minimum open period in the system.
-
1.10 A free way in, with the same chance
LiveEvery draw has a free postal entry route. A free entry is a real numbered ticket in the same draw, and it is one entry, the same as a paid ticket. A postal winner goes through the same prize checks.
-
1.11 Marketing
In buildOur marketing is being brought into line with the CAP and BCAP codes, and wording that could read as a way to earn a living, or as an alternative to work, is being taken out.
2. Transparency
-
2.1 How each draw works
LiveEach draw has its own terms page, and one page explains step by step how every draw is run.
-
2.2 A draw you can check
LiveThe list of tickets is locked when a draw closes, and a draw cannot run without it. The fingerprint of the list is shown on the draw's checking page before the draw, and the full list, which holds no personal details, is published once the draw has run. A small program lets you confirm the list is unchanged and the winning ticket was on it.
-
2.3 Your chance, before you enter: draws
LiveThe most tickets a draw can have, and the chance for one ticket if every one is entered, shown in the buy card on the draw page before you enter. The figure is the worst case, rounded against us, and it is better if fewer tickets are entered.
-
2.3 Your chance, before you enter: the arcade
Not yetWhat each arcade game says about the chance of winning before you play is being settled.
-
2.4 The free route is shown before you pay
LiveEach draw page links to the free postal route, and the route has its own page explaining it.
-
2.5 Prizes and end dates stay as advertised
Not yetEach draw page says the draw runs on its closing date whatever has sold. The system does not yet lock a live draw's prize, ticket count or closing date, so we cannot yet say this is enforced rather than promised.
3. Accountability
-
3.1 Reviewing our own compliance
Not yetWe have internal tools to watch compliance. A named, regular review against this code is not yet in place.
-
3.2 Third parties we work with
Not yetRequiring the companies we work with to follow the code is not yet in place.
-
3.3 Working with other operators
Not yetSharing good practice with other operators is a commitment for the company, not something this website does. Not yet in place.
-
3.4 Publishing these measures
LiveThis page. Each live label is checked against the site itself when the page loads, so a measure cannot show as live if the thing behind it has gone.
-
3.5 Working with the Government
Not yetCollaborating with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport is a commitment for the company, not something this website does. Not yet in place.
Not listed
Clause 2.6 of the code covers charitable contributions. It applies to operators who advertise a charitable element, and none of our draws do.
Questions about any measure here can go through the complaints form. See also how draws are run and responsible play.
